Essential Oils Blog: Benefits of an Essential Oil Diffuser

Transform your space into a spa-like environment with an Essential Oil Diffuser.  Essential Oil Diffusers are an effective way to experience the benefits of essential oils. Diffusers get oils into the atmosphere by breaking the oils down into micro molecules and then dispersing them into the air.

Benefits of an Essential Oil Diffuser

  1. Cleans the Air
  2. Mood Elevating
  3. Non Toxin
  4. Wards off Illness
  5. Helps with Sleep
  6. Reduces Stress and Relieves Anxiety

Types of Diffusers

Nebulizing Diffusers use room temperature air to blow the oil into the nebulizer where it is vaporized and is able to be absorbed by the lungs, brain and other parts of the body.  This diffuser does not work well with heavier, thicker oils, is hard to clean and noisy.

Ultrasonic Diffusers uses electronic frequencies that breaks the oil up and disperse with water into the air without using any heat.  This is a great way to experience the soothing and relaxing benefits of essential oils.

Evaporative Diffusers uses a fan to blow air through a pad or filter where the oil sits and vaporizes the oil on the pad.  This type works better in your car or when traveling.

Heat Diffusers use a heat source to disperse the oil.  They work in small spaces.  This type of diffuser may alter the chemistry of the oil which defeats the purpose.

Every home should have an Essential Oils Diffuser and my favorite is the Ultrasonic Diffuser because of its effectiveness and ease of use.  When my daughter became sick with a bad sinus infection, diffusing was perfect for clearing the air of germs.  I used Young Living Thieves Oil and Thieves Household Cleaner to de-germ the house and RC and Eucalyptus to help her breathing.  I periodically diffuse Thieves to keep my home smelling fresh and clean.

There are Specific Benefits of the Ultrasonic Diffuser

  1. Air Saturation is High
  2. Easy to Use and Clean
  3. Cover Large Spaces
  4. Breaks Down any Essential Oil
  5. High Oil Capacity

Ways To Use A Diffuser

  1. Diffuse in your home to help ease tension, relieve stress, and clear the air.
  2. Diffuse in your work space to improve concentration and mental clarity
  3. Diffuse in your bedroom to help relax before bedtime

Start by diffusing 15-20 minutes per day until you have become comfortable with the effects.  Then increase the frequency as needed.

It is very important that you clean your diffuser properly to maintain good working order.  After each use empty your diffuser of all water and oils and wipe with a damp cloth.
